Goblin revenge. Part I

Maybe I wasn't cut out for merits.

It all started with the last version update. All kinds of new spells and meritable abilities to test out. I couldn't wait, I figure with a 40k buffer into 75 I would be okay to switch over to merits.

Obviously I was mistaken.

Chalked up almost 15 deaths since switching over to merits. Needless to say some of them have been in pretty... Interesting places.

Lets just say my 75th level Red Mage has died more in Valkurm Dunes then in Dynamis-San d'oria.

It's something about goblins, Now don't get me wrong the other beastmen have taken their toll on my experiance points too. But damn. Those goblins don't know when to quit. They are vicious little bastards, I can blame atleast 5 deaths on that Bomb Toss ability.

I can also blame about 9 of those deaths on Convert... but that is besides the point.

So anyway I figure it's time to inact alittle goblin revenge. That last death was a cheap shot, and I've had enough. Killing me out in Dynamis or crazy dungeons with names I can't spell is one thing, but Valkurm dunes... that's the last straw.

I rack my brain for a way to get back at all goblin kind. First thing I thought of was just killing all of them... Then I realized that that would take alot of work and possibly more death. I thought of turning the other beastmen against the goblins in which would result in a bloody coup in the beastmen armies. But honestly have you every tried talking to an orc? Let alone tried explaining how to over throw the goblins, So plan B is right out.

That leaves me with, smaller more focused killing spree.

...So I'm in Jeuno. No, I'm not killing newbs... maybe a few... but that's not why I'm here. I'm here to kill those damn double crossing goblins. I mean they are in Jeuno they can't be that tough probably all soft and flabby from making chocolate all day.

I walk in calm and cool(It's always the last ones you expect) they didn't see it coming. I whiped out my Joy-toy- no that you little pervs, my sword. I start the stabing and the killing but damn they are fiesty little armorers and chefs. I got the fat one that makes the RSE(If you need Mithra Male RSE I'll hook you up.) but the chef hit me with a freaking pan. A piece of cookware... little guy has a good arm on him though, knocked me clean out.

I woke up a couple hours later at my home point, only missing some gil and an odd pain in my bottom, I do not wish to speculate the source.

One dead gobin didn't make my urge for revenge subside, but for now I need to go learn to sleep on my stomach.

Emo Lord!

It's one of those days...

You get that feeling... to run out and kill things. You know? then you realize that most of those things are gonna drop Bomb Toss on you first chance they get. So I decide to pick on something easier.

Maybe I could help someone while I'm at it.

{Hmmm.}

Shadow Lord! Some people in the LS need that mission, perfect chance to brush up on my solo skills. So I round up Sheldan grab some ninja tools. I'm getting stoked for a big fight. It's not every day you try to solo the lord of all beast men.

...So the guy is emo and is about 20 levels lower then me. He's still really big... and a galka so it's okay.

We grab a nearby white mage, bum a Teleport-Vhazl, and we're off to the castle. If you're not familar with that perticular dungeon... it's big, really big. It's also... kinda confusing. To say the least.

Who needs maps anyway? It can't be that tough. If we get lost we can just ask one of those demons for directions. I hear if you trade them a Hawthorn Hights album they will do just about anything you ask. We can't get lost that badly... can we?

Fast foward two hours... We make it to the throne room where this supposed Lord of Shadows hangs out. We're out side buffing up, getting ready for the big showdown. I've never soloed this guy before, but I hear it's a tough fight. Got my trusty ninja subjob brand spanking new {Joyeuse}(Thanks again to Saoirse and Sheldan for that one.) I'm ready! Bring it on!

Sheldan walks up to open the door with the Key Item she got from the Star Sybil...

"The door is sealed with a powerful curse!"

...Ahem.

I said she walks up the door and opens it with the Key Item she got from the Star Sybil...

Hiroaki>> You did flag the quest from the guards right?
Sheldan>> Yeah, It's listed in my active mission list.*
Hiroaki>> You talked to all the NPCs you needed to right?
Sheldan>> ... Maybe.*
Hiroaki>> ...
Hiroaki>> This seems very familar...

(*Sheldan speak translated to english for the reader)

After talking to Star Sybil and 12 hours later... We head back to the throne room.

This time the door opens and we're face to face with...

Shadow Lord>> Ahh... Adventures. You must be here to hear my poetry about death and my accursed fate as lord of shadows?
Hiroaki>> ...Not quite big guy.
Shadow Lord>> Then... You don't mean? *SIGH* I can't belive another group coming to kill me? You're only the 6th ones today...
Hiroaki>> I'm sorry about that... we would have made it sooner, but... We ran into some, complications.
Shadow Lord>> Ohh, How could this happen t-
Hiroaki>> -Oh no you don't!

This is where the stabbing started. This is where the stabbing ended.

For a big guy he went down pretty fast.

He didn't even make it though his "Tear my life into peices this is my {Last Resort}" macro. I was so looking forward to that one too.

Mission accomplished, didn't even get lost on the way back... True heros don't need any maps...

Warp helps though.

Fun times in Delkfutt's Tower.

A red mage must be properly equiped, unfortunatly for us this can get quite expensive at times. Recently I found my self drooling over a pair of aqua rings I saw in a store window. After much digging around in my mog house I could only come up with a small fraction of what I needed for my new shinies. I must remember never to leave my gil alone with that moogle...

After much deliberation I decide that camping a NM would be the best course of action to raise the money I needed, but this opened up a whole new can of worms. It's a delicate science, choosing NMs to camp, there are many factors that come into play: spawn time, size of the spawn area, difficulty, money to be gained from drop, how many little Taru gil sellers you have to step on to get the claim... Idealy you want something with a low spawn time, that sells for lots of money, and most importantly no gil seller compition. My choice? Enkelados. So it's off to Upper Delkfutt's Tower!

And to my joy I find the area deserted. Well it would have been deserted if there had not been a 2ft tall taru hiding under that dead Gigas. Well in retrospect I guess it was kind of odd that there was a dead gigas on the ground. I had just assumed he had killed him self when he sensed my presense.

The taru was a gil seller for sure. Crappy gear, gimpy sub, rank 1; a perfect match...

RMT> {Money} {Do you need it?} {sell?}

I swear, I would have never guessed...

After an hour or so ol' Enky spawns and thanks to Dia I out claim the little Taru retard. Everything was going fine untill I see

"Enkelados readies Charm."

Oh damn, he manages to charm me. I'm thinking okay so he'll just wail on me untill charm wears off and I'll get back to killing him.

Enky had differnt plans. I see his name go yellow, Oh damn. The taru goes nuts, starts spaming all kinds of magic and claims him... and his pet.

Remind me to thank Enkelados next time he spawns. Maybe I'll let him live more then a few seconds next time. Taru's HP is dropping faster then a rock in water. I deal the final blow.

Retard falls to level 59.
Well atleast his sub isn't gimped anymore.

Retard Gilsellers- 0

I come uncharmed and finish the ol' giant off. No drop. Oh well atleast it wasn't a wasted day. I start heading home to have a talk with that damn moogle about honesty and how stealing is very bad, when get a tell. Oh not just any tell... it's from [GM]Moriyan

[GM]Moriyan> Hail adventurer.
[GM]Moriyan> I have recived a complaint about your behavior while camping a NM in Upper Delkfutt's Tower.
Hiroaki> I don't recall doing anything that is in violation of the ToS.
[GM]Moriyan You killed another player.
Hiroaki> Oh you mean the Taru, what about it?
[GM]Moriyan> Well to start... He's kinda not moving.
Hiroaki> You sure he's not just tired? I'm sure a little guy like that needs to take lots of naps to keep his energy up.
[GM]Moriyan> Well judging by the sword and axe wounds... and the fact that his right leg is in the next room... I'd say he is not sleeping.
Hiroaki> Well I'm sorry to hear that he died. I had no choice really, Enkelados made me do it.

Definatly not a wasted trip to Delkfutt's.
